J. J. Kinder is Associate Professor of Italian at the Department of European Language and Studies, University of Western Australia. He has published widely on the Italian language spoken by migrants and their children.
V. M. Savini is tutor in Italian at the Department of European Language and Studies, University of Western Australia. He works both as a tutor and a translator.

This is a great book. I am trying to improve my Italian by reading articles on the web. Baffling phrasing is frequently clarified, with precision, in this reference work. The section on prepositions alone is worth the money.

Using Italian: A Guide to Contemporary Usage

Excellent for someone who already has at least minimum knowledge of the language. It gives a precise range of application and culturally sensitive extension to each term. I have the Spanish and Portuguese books of the series and they all are great learning tools.

This book is like the "missing manual" of Italian. So much great content that normally only comes with experience, this is a must for anyone seriously studying this great language.
