About the Author
Rod Judkins is a fine-artist and lecturer based in London. He lectures in creative thinking at many colleges, including the renowned Central St Martins College of Art and Design. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art he has had numerous solo art exhibitions in London and abroad. This is his first book.

This is a great read. The author isn't trying to convince you of anything, merely stating the facts that support really succinct and practical advice. I'd recommend this to all creatives. I read it in 2-3 days, perfect tool for getting out of a creative slump.

About the Author
Karin Stulz has extensive experience in the administrative professional field. Her career at Northern Michigan University began with a variety of full-time administrative professional positions. Karin is now the Assistant Professor-Office Information Systems at Northern Michigan University.

Kellie A. Shumack is an associate professor of instructional technology and a department head in the College of Education at Auburn Montgomery. She has worked as an administrative assistant and has taught at the secondary, community college, and university levels. Kellie has designed numerous college courses in both the online and face-to-face environments. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, two textbooks, and several book chapters, and she has presented at over 40 professional conferences. Kellie was awarded the 2012 Auburn Montgomery College of Education Excellence in Teaching Award, received the 2010 Delta Pi Epsilon Outstanding Doctoral Research Award, and maintains a certificate to teach online courses at the postsecondary level.

Dr. Patsy J. Fulton-Calkins' experience in the field is extensive. Her past experience in the workplace includes working as an administrative professional for large corporations for six years. Early in her career, she completed the CPS certification. Her teaching experience includes over 13 years at the university, community college, and high school levels. In addition to her teaching experience, she has worked as an administrator in the following positions: • Chancellor of Oakland Community College (the chief executive officer), Oakland County, Michigan • President of Brookhaven College, Dallas, Texas • Vice-President of Instruction at El Centro College and Cedar Valley College, Dallas, Texas • Division Chairperson of Business and Social Science, Cedar Valley College, Dallas, Texas Her present position includes working with Tom Monaghan Associates, Inc. as a senior consultant in institutional advancement work with clients across the United States. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor at the university level. Great information for studying for the CAP Exam. There is a newer edition out now. When studying for the CAP Exam you need various sources of information. If you don't understand something in one book, you might find a simpler explanation in another book. This was extremely helpful.

An Admin's Bible

I refer to this book as the 'bible' for administrative assistants because it is a comprehensive guide to knowledge that is essential for office proficiency. Anyone who is thinking of pursuing administrative work as a career or who is already working, will benefit by owning this book. It's a great precursor and a helpful aid to real-life work experience. It was the most important textbook I used to study for and pass the CAP (Certified Administrative Professional) exam.

I am very pleased with this purchase. This is the first book that I have purchased for my college textbooks. I like how instead of reading a link in the paper book and then having to get on the computer to look at it, all you have to do with the kindle version is click on the link and it automatically takes you there. This book examines the archaeological implications of Islam as a force which can act upon all areas of life. Islam leaves distinctive material culture remains and distinctive categories of evidence which can be detected and described.

The subject and the geographical area of Islam is vast. The author provides an assessment of the means and the methods of uncovering Islamic material records in the context of a wide range of times and places. Separate chapters examine the mosque, the domestic environment, the Islamic city, death and burial, art, manufacturing and trade. The author draws evidence from the perceived heartlands of the Islamic world (Arabia, the Near East), and from those regions traditionally regarded as the periphery (Africa and the Far East). Coverage extends from the origins of Islam in the seventh century AD up until the present.

About the Author
Timothy Insoll is currently a Research Fellow in Archaeology at St John's College, Cambridge. From January 1999 he has been appointed a lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Manchester. He has conducted fieldwork in Mali, Eritrea, India, Uganda, Turkey and the UK. He has published numerous papers in academic journals, and one of his most recent publications, a monograph, is Islam, Archaeology and History: The Gao Region, Mali.

Demonstrates the variety of Muslim cultures

Can archeologists draw conclusions about whole societies? The discipline of social archeology says they can, and Insoll proves it in the case of Islam. His goal is not only to demonstrate the richness and variety of the material culture of Muslim societies-he refers to a satisfactorily wide range of times and places in doing so-but also to interpret material culture and connect it convincingly to social characteristics. Islam itself structures his book, each chapter begin-ning with an epigraph from the Qur'an that sets the theme. Thus the obligation of prayer is made archeologically concrete in the structure of the mosque, the importance of privacy shapes the excavatable spaces of domestic structures, and dietary requirements affect the food remains and the building types the archeologist may find.

It far outclasses the five other contemporary Latin commentaries on Galatians in its breadth of classical and patristic erudition, Hebrew and Greek textual criticism of the Bible, and expository thoroughness. It is unique also because it is the only one of the Latin commentaries to make the Greek exegetical tradition its main point of reference. Jerome's Commentary in fact preserves, in one form or another, a treasure-trove of otherwise lost Greek exegesis, particularly Origen's Commentary on Galatians, from which he worked very closely when composing his own work.

Jerome's Commentary on Galatians is presented here in English translation in its entirety. The introduction and notes situate the Commentary in its historical, exegetical, and theological contexts and also provide extensive coverage of ancient and modern scholarly debates about the interpretation of Paul's epistle.
