The book is easy to read and covers all the important topics in radiographic physics. The book is an excellent review for radiology residents and a valuable reference for any practicing radiologist. A good book for teaching residents from. Covers a pretty wide range of topics. The level of detail covered is probably just enough for a radiology residents course, but medical physics students and grad students will probably find it a bit lacking. However, still an essential part of any medical physicist's library.

This book is very well written and makes a definitive reference. You can read the book in its entirety or just sections of interest. There are well drawn diagrams, charts, etc. that explain different modalities. This is one of the few books I kept around after college.

About the Author
Gary Colombo is professor of English at Los Angeles City College. He has published Mind Readings: An Anthology for Writers (2002), and with Bonnie Lisle and Sandra Mano, Frame Work: Culture, Storytelling and College Writing (1997), both for Bedford/St. Martins. Robert Cullen is professor of English at San Jose State University. He supervises Teaching Associates in the university’s lower-division writing sequence and has taught a wide range of courses in American literature, American Studies, composition, and pedagogy. Bonnie Lisle teaches in the UCLA Writing Programs. With Gary Colombo and Sandra Mano, she is the author of Frame Work: Culture, Storytelling, and College Writing (Bedford/St. Martins, 1997).

Rent, don't buy.

Rented this book for a college freshman English course. Book was well organized and contained more than enough readings and discussion/writing prompts. Unfortunately, this really appears to be more of a worldview textbook than a writing textbook. There were many selections and writing prompts that were geared toward exploring homosexuality, gender issues and same sex marriage. These also also included visual images to prompt thought. When searching the other sections of the same course, most of the faculty actually chose writing and rhetoric textbooks. (that is what one would expect a college composition course to use.) Decided to switch sections since I was seeking (and paying for) a true English composition course. Amazon was great about refunding the rental fee.

In a bind i had to rent this book digitally in order to have it on hand for a trip i was on. However without disclaimer they remove several key sections of the text used by many professors. This digital book is a rip off and a waste of time and money and i regret it completely.

The best English 101 book on the market

Now that I have read numerous textbooks used in English 101 classes, I feel I can safely say that Rereading America is the best one out there. I was going to swtich to another book to use in my classes, but no other book was as good a spring board for students to write about. While some students loved it or hated it, the book provided a good jumping off point for students to write. One negative though is that the 6th edition is better than the 8th edition. It is longer and has slightly better essays.

This reworked political science dissertation is an intensely personal interpretation of the role the men of the title have had in the American left and in popular culture. Using the terms "playing mind games," "mind guerrilla," "heroic personage," and "cult" with irritating repetitiveness, Hampton analyzes the life and work of each man, finally concluding that one must always "be on guard against millionaire superstars who image themselves to be workingclass heroes." A heartfelt criticism of hero worship and the "cult of originality," this is not a musicological study nor is the ethnomusicological idea that music enculturates addressed as such. About the Author

Richard Hammond is proud to call himself a retailer: He has more than 25 years of experience and still gets a buzz from it every day.

He has developed a practical problem-solving approach to creating great retail experiences. His consultancy business put this into practice for clients ranging from convenience stores in Kazakhstan, fashion brands in Sweden, to big stores and brands in the UK.

 

Rick DeHerder was the founder of Array, a leading designer and manufacturer of fixtures and displays, with operations in North America and China and a network of strategic partners around the world. Prior to founding Array in 1999, Rick spent 24 years in both brand marketing as Executive Vice President at Mattel, and in the retail industry at Sears, working in the stores, regional offices, and headquarters. This broadbased experience gives him unique insight into the challenges of retail marketing at all levels.

 

Dick Blatt is the president of Planar World Consulting. He served as the CEO of POPAI—The Global Association for Marketing at Retail, for 17 years. In this role, he was called upon to author articles and deliver presentations around the world on the subject of marketing at retail, its future, and its trends. He was also selected to provide The Center for Association Leadership with two case studies of excellence for going global and reinventing the association. During his tenure, one of the association’s primary strategic goals was to integrate the marketing at retail medium in the strategic marketing mix.
